When Do you give Up On An Addicted Person?
Many of the people who have gone through treatment, in some form or another relapse. The person is then told that they didn’t work the program and this is why they have relapsed. Some of the reasons that an addict relapses is that the program didn’t work for them or they were not ready for treatment.
Most facilities have extended aftercare therapies that they offer once you have completed their program. This option is not for everyone as most people have jobs or family to get back to but for those who need a lifestyle change, an inpatient drug rehab facility is the best bet. Intensive outpatient and sober living give the transition that the person needs in order to remain drug free. Most drug treatment programs have this option and we highly recommend this to our clients. It is very easy to stay clean and sober in a substance abuse treatment program. Once you finish it takes some work and support to remain that way.
